I'm in total agreement with what Disqus is trying to do with a blog commenter's bill of rights, though I think it should extend to all user generated content. It's time to put the pressure on companies that view user generated content as free labor.
Here's my somewhat dated rant on the subject of the rights of content contributors. Sadly, to date, I believe that my company is the only consumer review site where 1) contributors can share in the revenue; and 2) contributors are given the tools to share their content all over the web; and 3) contributors are free to permanently delete their accounts and all of their content contributions whenever they want.
Over the coming weeks and months, RateItAll will be ratcheting up the pressure on its competitors to change their tune in this area. I think there's enough momentum for a genuine movement now.
