More from Widget Summit
Three product announcements:
Webwag
Start page offering web and mobile convergence between mobile and web. Fully synchronized. Can synchronize from mobile to web, or from web to mobile.
So you load up your web start page with widgets (weather, gmail, calendar, rss feeds) and it gets synced with your cell phone. Takes Flickr images as background if your mobile app, if you want.
Also have widget on demand which creates widget out of any module on any page. Click and highlight on page, and it becomes a live widget. They also have a Firefox add on that does the same thing. (I've played with this before, and it's cool.)
The web to mobile convergence looks pretty cool.. I'm definitely going to try this out.
Social marketing platform that enables bands, sports teams, etc. to reach fans and friends of fans. Beyonce and the Cincinnati Bengals are clients.
Example: creating a Gydget for band Maroon 5. Select image, title, destination url, and color style. Then, you populate content like events (from MySpace.com/maroon5), news from the maroon 5 blog, video from YouTube.
Then the Gydget can be posted anywhere, and there is widget to widget distrbution (with Gigya).
Pretty cool. I wonder if they charge the band by impression?
Now Tariq Krim from Netvibes is getting up there.
Now they support new widget platforms: export to Vista, iPhone, Opera, etc. Write once to Netvibes, then publish everywhere.
Netvibes module works on iPhone.
If a widget is built in Netvibes, they tap you into their langauge translating community, so it can be distributed in any language.
dev.netvibes.com
