For the last six years, the site that I work for has been running a list of best super bowl ads, and then having people rate and review their favorites. We were particularly excited about putting the list up this year because how easy the video embeds would be.
I'm happy to say that the vast majority of advertisers have embraced the viral power of video widgets. However, there are still a few that are struggling to get with the program. According to YouTube, the following advertisers have requested no embeds: CareerBuilder, Blockbuster, GoDaddy, and the PSA BeatYourRisk.
Anybody have a clue as to what these guys are thinking? The one that puzzles me the most is GoDaddy. These guys are from the industry, and have shown themselves to be extremely savvy marketeers. Do they think that they can drive more new business by forcing people to go to their site to see the videos?

No, they're not banning widgets... they have requested that YouTube not enable embeds of their SuperBowl ad. So while you can watch the ad on YouTube, you can't grab embed code.

That's disappointing to hear. I use GoDaddy for domain registrations and love their ads. It is strange that they would choose to go this path.
They built an entire marketing campaign around the ads, their rejection from TV, etc. You would think that they would push the envelope. Being in the business they should understand and embrace the viral potential of their ads...
GoDaddy has entire pages/site setup for the ad campaign. If they distribute the videos virally and drive traffic to those properties, it would be a good thing.
