Widgets are going mainstream. NBA.com now offers widgets for each of the 300 plus players in the NBA. It's too wide for a sidebar, and it's script based which limits the destination possibilities, but it still is pretty impressive to see a mainstream site pushing widgets. The widget was specifically optimized for social network profiles. There probably will be a sidebar version coming soon. I am not sure what you mean when you say "script-based." If you mean Javascript, then I just want to point out that it is actually Flash. Either way, however, the widget can go to most sites - including MySpace. If you check out the widget on nba.com and flip it by clicking the "Snag it" button, you can leverage the autopost mechanisms to place it as a comment, or post to a profile on MySpace.
